A BSc Forest science graduate from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Mr Johansson Anders, recently visited the School of Natural Resource Management at NMMU George to share his experiences of the Scandinavian forest sector with fellow-academics and students in the third year Forestry class.

Anders, who is currently taking part in a joint master’s program between SLU and University of British Columbia (UBC), visited South Africa primarily to learn more about the local forest industry after gaining industry experience working at a forestland investment company based in São Paulo, Brazil. He has also worked in an advisory capacity at a Swedish forest owner association. This company, called Södra, is owned by 50 000 private forest owners in southern Sweden.
